To Add Or Not To Add

I have been participating in the social networking sites such as this one for the last few years, and I’ve really been enjoying the experience. In addition to keeping in practice with my writing skills by posting blogs, I’ve been making many meaningful contacts on the sites. This includes not only meeting new people, but also strengthening ties with current friends, and reconnecting with other older friends and acquaintances. As some readers may know from previous blogs I’ve posted on the topic…See More

My Trip To Missouri - 2010

It’s been a long time since I’ve blogged, so I wanted to post my blog about my recent trip to my family reunion in my mother’s hometown of Louisiana, Missouri. I enjoyed getting the time away from work so that I could see everyone and spend time with them. And I look forward to doing it again in the future.I really had a good time seeing my extended family again, and it left me with a lot of positive reflections on the trip. Although approximately one year has passed since I saw many of my…See More

UT Alumni Forum's Freshman Year!

The UT Alumni Forum was created in August 2008 to support the University of Texas Groups on Linkedin and promote networking among Longhorn Faithful Worldwide. In the first year, the Forum has grown to include members in 32 States around the United States and 16 countries around the World. The Forum has also driven membership in the UT groups on Linkedin over 400% this year!

With a new school year here and "National Championship" talk in the air, the Alumni Forum is looking forward to… Continue

I Fail, That is Why I Succeed

I was having a conversation with a friend of mine when he threw in one of the best sentences I have heard in a long time. He said, "Worrying is for victims." That sentence was very relevant to our conversation and I have been thinking about it a lot ever since.

He meant, from a business standpoint, if you are put in a position where you don't feel comfortable and then lay down and accept defeat, you are a victim. In my experience, people that are… Continue

Posting Positive Blogs

When I first started blogging on here, one of the things I told everyone was that I would keep my posts as positive as possible. So far, I have done that, and I have gotten some nice comments from people reading them saying how much they like the posts. I have managed to make several new friends as a result. I’m glad to know that others out there appreciate the things I’ve been writing, so I will definitely keep posting them.

I chose to write positive posts because I have seen so… Continue

Utility Infielder

UPDATE: The Utility Infielder blog has moved to my new job. The site is TX.CoachesAid.com, and it's devoted to high school sports. But our blogs can be about pretty much anything. Check it out at http://tx.coachesaid.com/blogs.asp?author=23

Dedication

Dedication. The most successful people in life and in business understand that Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it is about learning to dance in the rain.

The picture listed above is of a monestary in Burma named Taung Kalat. It was formed when molten magma from nearby Mount Popa hardened in a vent on the volcano. The only access is up a steep flight of 777 rickety steps.

The point is, how many times have those steps… Continue

Approaching Tipping Point?

The UT Forum here on Ning has seen some exciting additions over the past couple weeks. A “Big D” ~ Dallas group has been created for those Exes up in North Texas and individual invites should go out soon. We have two members who have provided some great info on their blog posts, so keep an eye out for these posts as they will be “featured” on the main page periodically. We now have a member using the “Twitter Tracker” application which is a very good way to leverage your twitter activity here… Continue

My First Blog On Linkedinexes.com

As is my tradition when I join a new interactive site, I am posting my first blog to let the readers know “the shape of things to come” in my blogs. One of the reasons I enjoy blogging is because it helps me keep in practice between my free-lance writing projects, and I’ve found that it’s a great way to share my perspectives with others. It’s also a very relaxing hobby.

I use my blogs to relay ideas in a constructive manner rather than as an excuse for online ranting or whining about… Continue

April was as gentle as a Lamb!

One of the reasons folks fall in love with Austin while at UT is spring time in central Texas! What a great month for the UT Alumni Forum. Proud to welcome Korea to the international contingent of 13 nations represented here on the UT Forum. While Brooklyn joins the already strong representation from The Big Apple, showing that Longhorns “Do Love New York”. The already strong groups in Dallas, Houston and San Antonio continue to grow along with the entire West Coast. Of course Austin,… Continue
