A Word Of Welcome ...

Hello And Welcome To My Page!

Following my graduation from Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur, Texas, in May 1984, I attended the University of Texas at Austin from September 1984 to May 1989. I graduated from the College of Communication, earning a Bachelor of Sciene Degree in Radio-Television-Film, with a minor in Speech Communication. Since that time, I earned a second Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. I have managed to find a "happy medium" between my two degrees through my occupation as a 911 dispatcher, where I supervise the evening shift.

One of my passions has always been writing. In high school, I studied journalism, and wrote for the school newspaper and the yearbook. I entered the University as a Journalism major, but switched first to Speech Communication, and finally switched to Radio-Television-Film. Although I never pursued writing as a full-time occupation, I have written many free-lance projects, and some of these have been published. Between projects, I like to blog as a way of keeping in practice with my writing. I currently have blogs posted on MySpace, Yahoo 360, and my high school pages on Ning.com, and I will be posting them on this site as well. I would invite anyone who is interested to read them, and I hope you will find them interesting as well as informative.

I learned many lessons in my five years at the University, both on and off the books. I made many friends and had many experiences that helped shape my character, and I am thankful for the education I received at the University. I look forward to being able to reconnect with friends on this site, as well as making new and meaningful contacts with others.

Have a great day, and thank you for visiting my page!

Personal Safety For The Modern World #2

The Value Of A Gym Locker

One aspect of personal safety and security that has relevance for many of us involves safeguarding our belongings. Losing personal belongings can be stressful, but losing them due to theft can be even more aggravating. To avoid feeling these negative emotions, it is important to take steps to secure them when you have the opportunity to do so.

One situation where I find it necessary to secure my belongings occurs when I visit the gym for a workout. Becau… Continue

Welcome to the Forum Jimmie! I would like to "feature" a few of your blogs from time to time. This will basically place the blog on the main page when folks log on. Do you have personnel favorites? Any feelings on which you would like featured? Or would you prefer to just keep them listed on you personal page and the blog section? It's totally up to! Thanks for all the input! Hook'em Jonathan!
